Postgraduate program in Developmental Biology and Cellular Signaling (DECS)

This program offers a postgraduate training program curriculum in the fields of Developmental Biology and Cellular Signaling. Research in these areas encompasses cellular and molecular biology, development of various organ systems, stem cell biology, hematology and immunology, molecular and clinical endocrinology, genetics, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology.

The Program has three major aims:

To provide a structured Postgraduate Course Program.

To aid Ph.D.-students and Supervisors by organizing a Introductory Student Rotation Program.

To create a network for Ph.D-students at KI active in the areas of Developmental Biology and Cellular Signaling.

Introductory Student Rotation Program:

The Rotation Program in Developmental Biology and Cellular Signaling (DECS) offers a training program for students (B.Sc., M.Sc. and M.D.) to extend their practical and research experiences. The program will not provide any guarantee to initiate Ph.D. studies. This course provide possibility to work with a proper research field and/or project guided by DECS supervisors.
The students will get a broad start by being exposed to different research groups. Students will get introduction to practical research methodology during 18 weeks total in two different research groups and participate in the DECS introductory courses: "Introduction to Graduate Studies" and "Developmental Biology and Cellular Signaling: An Introduction". The supervisors / research groups participating in the program will be asked if they want to offer a rotation-position and based on this information, the rotations are advertised.
